I’ve always loved this book growing up and I love it even more now because of the empathy and emotions that are taught through it。 The act of giving to others and not feeling like you’re losing something is so key for littles to understand。DRA:ATOS:6 Traits: Ideas

This was my favorite story growing up。 I had forgotten all about it until I saw it online。 I remembered how much I loved it listening to a read aloud and bought a copy for my own kids。 It's about being beautiful on the outside but not so pretty on the inside。 No one can make or keep friends being selfish and unking to other。 The Ranbow fish finally figures out how to be a good friend and learns his lesson。I would recommend this book for all as a mini lesson in kindness。 This was my favorite story growing up。 I had forgotten all about it until I saw it online。 I remembered how much I loved it listening to a read aloud and bought a copy for my own kids。 It's about being beautiful on the outside but not so pretty on the inside。 No one can make or keep friends being selfish and unking to other。 The Ranbow fish finally figures out how to be a good friend and learns his lesson。I would recommend this book for all as a mini lesson in kindness。 。。。more

This is a story about a very beautiful fish, who will not share his scales that shine with the little blue fish。 Because of his selfishness the other fish in the ocean ignore Rainbow Fish。 However, Rainbow fish didn’t understand why so he went to the octopus to get some advice。 The octopus tells him to give away his scales。 So he does, he gives away all but one scale。 The fish is no longer as beautiful but he is happy because he has many friends。 The images in the book are very eye catching beca This is a story about a very beautiful fish, who will not share his scales that shine with the little blue fish。 Because of his selfishness the other fish in the ocean ignore Rainbow Fish。 However, Rainbow fish didn’t understand why so he went to the octopus to get some advice。 The octopus tells him to give away his scales。 So he does, he gives away all but one scale。 The fish is no longer as beautiful but he is happy because he has many friends。 The images in the book are very eye catching because the scales of Rainbow Fish show the tur beauty of the scales。 I gave this book a four star rating because the message that it sends is powerful and teaches kids to share。 The images in the book I love too because in the copy I have the scales shine and glisten。 They are very eye catching, and even is texturized which could be good for kids with sensory。 。。。more

You want to talk about brainwashing? Try this book。 “We should all be the same。 You should give up PARTS OF YOUR BODY to make other people like you。 It doesn’t matter how you feel; just do it! Hurry!” Yikes。 The shiny scales may hypnotize adults long enough to believe this is actually a good book。

A beautiful story about a fish who is finding friendship and is learning how to be happy! This book is a great way to teach kids about selfishness and learn how to share。

The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister is a beautifully illustrated book that is best known for its message of Selfishness which as you read you will pick up on right away。 I would recommend having this book in a classroom。Lexile:610AR: 3。4six traits: ideas, presentation

I used to read this to the kid I watched on Sundays when I was a teenager。 I remember she always liked the shiny fish scales。

The holographic printing is what makes this amazing & really nostalgic。

Marcus Pfister wrote and illustrated "The Rainbow Fish。" The illustrations are beautifully portrayed with colorful images covered with foil stamping。 This gives the book a textural feel and allows the reader to not only see, but feel, the scales that the rainbow fish covets so much。 Also, the amount of text compared to the size of the illustrations, are a good ration。 The book starts with shorter lines of text with simple dialogue but grows into more detailed, blocks of text, when the plot thick Marcus Pfister wrote and illustrated "The Rainbow Fish。" The illustrations are beautifully portrayed with colorful images covered with foil stamping。 This gives the book a textural feel and allows the reader to not only see, but feel, the scales that the rainbow fish covets so much。 Also, the amount of text compared to the size of the illustrations, are a good ration。 The book starts with shorter lines of text with simple dialogue but grows into more detailed, blocks of text, when the plot thickens。 As the story begins, the rainbow fish is approached by a little fish that likes his scales。 The rainbow fish is rude to him, ignores him, and swims off because his pride in his scales is too much。 Personification is used throughout the book to make dialogue between the characters more relatable and to help the story flow as the rainbow fish realizes that his selfishness has him losing all his "friends。" When the rainbow fish comes across the octopus, the octopus warns him that he will be unhappy unless he shares his scales with the other fish of the sea。 Sharing will give the rainbow fish a sense of relief from his worry of not being liked, as well as allowing him to give of himself to make others happy。 The rainbow fish's scales are his prized possessions but he knows that sharing is better than keeping his gorgeous scales to himself。 。。。more

Rainbow fish is about a selfish fish Who has beautiful foil scales。 He didn’t want to share it anymore。 I really enjoyed reading this book I remember reading it as a younger child, however re-reading this book as an adult I feel like I can relate more。 I know that in my classroom I can read this book to my students and have them do an assessment on something they think is beautiful that is not always selfish。

Jessica Wilber

it is a cute book, it teaches a cute lesson about sharing。 Not my favorite book but I do think it is a book that everyone should come across because it is such a staple at least my me as a child!

The rainbow fish is a good book for younger students because it teaches them that even when they don’t want to share it can help them build friendships。 In this book the rainbow fish had a lot of beautiful scales, and the fish wanted him to share, and he wouldn’t because he didn’t want to be less beautiful of a fish。 Then when everyone ignored him he asks the octopus what he should do, and he is advised to share his scales。 He then only has one left, but he has a bunch of friends, and his heart The rainbow fish is a good book for younger students because it teaches them that even when they don’t want to share it can help them build friendships。 In this book the rainbow fish had a lot of beautiful scales, and the fish wanted him to share, and he wouldn’t because he didn’t want to be less beautiful of a fish。 Then when everyone ignored him he asks the octopus what he should do, and he is advised to share his scales。 He then only has one left, but he has a bunch of friends, and his heart is full of happiness。 This taught he he got more than he gave by sharing。 。。。more

I like the shimmering sizes of the Rainbow Fish。 This story is tied in with sharing and how great it causes us to believe to share。 I like the thought, yet the Rainbow fish has some shimmering scales and they develop from your body。 They are essential for skin and you can't just haul them out。 So combining rainbow scales is tied sharing what our identity is or our blessings。 I like the shimmering sizes of the Rainbow Fish。 This story is tied in with sharing and how great it causes us to believe to share。 I like the thought, yet the Rainbow fish has some shimmering scales and they develop from your body。 They are essential for skin and you can't just haul them out。 So combining rainbow scales is tied sharing what our identity is or our blessings。 。。。more

The artwork was very nice to look at, but the overall message was not。 When reading it as a kid, it is just a simple tale about sharing and the value of it。 Looking back though, its more of a story stating the fish has to give up everything unique to him in order to acquire friendship。

This book was a really good book in my opinion。 It was very colorful and shiny and caught my attention。 I like how he felt bad for all of the other fish for not having colorful pretty scales like him, so he decides to give his scales away。 That was very kind of him, an act of kindness。

the rainbow fish by Marcus Pfister is a picture book about a beautiful fish that learns to share his scales with his friends。 this is a good book to teach children how to share。 the illustrations are beautiful which holds the children's attention all the way through。 I did not give it five stars, however, because I do believe the way it was written is slightly confusing and hard to follow。 the moral of the story is nice, but I think it could be written in a better manner。 this book is intended f the rainbow fish by Marcus Pfister is a picture book about a beautiful fish that learns to share his scales with his friends。 this is a good book to teach children how to share。 the illustrations are beautiful which holds the children's attention all the way through。 I did not give it five stars, however, because I do believe the way it was written is slightly confusing and hard to follow。 the moral of the story is nice, but I think it could be written in a better manner。 this book is intended for 3-6-year-olds。 this book won the Christopher Award, an IRA-CBC Children's Choice title, and American Booksellers Association award。 。。。more

Rainbow Fish is another classic book that most children have read or have been read to。 This book highlights the insecurities and troubles that some will go through while growing up。 But, it essentially has the lesson that if you share what you love with others, then you can make them happy and in return you can also feel happy。

Myah Gavalier

This book is a good book for children who are most interested in images。 The fish is praised for the beautiful color of it's scales。 The storyline might be confusing to children and they might not understand the point。 But the images are beautiful and i remember being read this book many times as a kid。 This book is a good book for children who are most interested in images。 The fish is praised for the beautiful color of it's scales。 The storyline might be confusing to children and they might not understand the point。 But the images are beautiful and i remember being read this book many times as a kid。 。。。more

The Rainbow Fish offers a great lesson I believe we can all learn from。 When we are selfish and care about material objects, we often feel alone and unhappy。 However, when we give back to others and form relationships we find the most important thing of all, love。 I really enjoyed this book and I thought it was quite endearing。
